Stowable Packing Guide

Pop open your box and fold the base flaps closed, ensuring the flaps marked “Inside flap” are on the inside.

Get the liner – it’s a long piece of card. Bend it into a U-shape along the pre-made fold lines and insert it into the box from the top.

This not only adds extra rigidity and strength to the box but also more protection for your possessions.

Grab some tape, your box may be in storage for some time, so it’s key that you use good-quality stuff! We recommend you use heavy-duty packing tape or reinforced self-adhesive paper tape.

Seal the base of the box, (we strongly recommend you include the seams) and make sure the tape has completely adhered to avoid any potential damage.

Wrap each item individually with Paper Bubble Wrap, Hive Wrap or packing paper (Recycled Kraft Paper), placing heavier items in the centre to maintain balance. Consider double-boxing for fragile items.

It’s important to ensure you fill all void spaces with packing peanuts, scrunched-up Kraft Paper or Paper Bubble Wrap to minimise movement. You’ll know you’ve got enough void fill when the top box flaps slightly compress it.

Before sealing, shake the box gently to ensure nothing can move or rattle.

Now you can seal the top with another strip of tape, remember to check it’s completely adhered. We recommend you reinforce the seams with more tape for added security and protection (be careful not to cover the QR code!).

Great, your box is packed! Login to your Stowable dashboard, scan the QR code on the corner of your box, name it and arrange collection.

Select a sturdy, undamaged cardboard box appropriate for your items’ size and weight.

Before you start packing make sure the base of the box is securely sealed, taping up the base seams at this stage is a good idea as it adds a lot of strength.

Your box may be in storage for some time, so it’s key you use good-quality tape that will hold your box securely closed, we recommend heavy-duty packing tape or reinforced self-adhesive paper tape.

Attach a provided QR Code Label to the corner of each box.

This is pretty important as it allows you to add the box to your dashboard for customisation and tracking, it also allows us to find and identify your box at Stowable HQ.
